The legendary football coach is remembered for his one-line, witty remarks. He was candid, he was unfiltered, and he was the Head Ball Coach, which fittingly so is the title of his new book.
COACH RANKINGS: ACC | Big Ten | Big 12 | Pac-12 | SEC
Here is the description for “Head Ball Coach” provided by Penguin Random House books:
Spurrier retired — correction: resigned — at the age of 70 from coaching college football in the midst of the 2015 season as he relinquished his position at South Carolina, a school where he spent 11 years and became the all-time leader in wins. He did the same thing at Florida previously for 12 years.
The Head Ball Coach went down in SEC history as the second-winningest coach, only behind Alabama’s Paul “Bear” Bryant.

The 320-page book will be jam-packed with more than enough of Spurrier’s unique voice. Spurrier wasn’t going to be forgotten, but now, his voice will live on in print forever.
“Head Ball Coach” releases this summer on Aug. 30.
Buddy Martin co-authored the book. He has previously done the same thing with Urban Meyer’s book, “Urban’s Way,” which was released in 2008.
