Stephen Jackson posted a passionate rant on Instagram defending Durant and telling Frazier his assessment is way off. Jackson (12,976 points) noted Frazier (15,581) is much closer to him than Durant (20,913) on the all-time scoring list, and he even took a shot at Frazier’s legendary suits.

“Man, I can’t believe Walt Frazier was talking about there’s gonna be an asterisk by the side of KD’s name. Come on, Walt,” Jackson said. “Nobody wanna hear that s—, Walt. KD is a champion, there ain’t no asterisk by his name. He’s going down as one of the best ever when he’s finished with this game.”

(Note: Strong language in the video below.)

Jackson makes a fair point about the never-ending arguments that often revolve around rings. Durant would have been excluded from any conversations about the top 10 or 15 players ever had he never lifted the Larry O’Brien trophy above his head. It’s hard to penalize him for taking advantage of a perfectly legal opportunity.

Frazier also happened to play alongside Hall of Famers like Willis Reed, Earl Monroe, Dave DeBusschere and Bill Bradley. He certainly earned his championships, but no one does it alone.

This debate will continue to rage on, but can we at least agree Frazier does own some beautiful suits?
