Per the NBA’s policy, shoe manufacturers were told to send shoes for their players to the equipment managers of the Knicks or Nets based on whether they participated in events at Barclays Center or Madison Square Garden.
Shoes Curry would have worn in the Shooting Stars and Three-Point Contest events were signed for when they arrived to the arena but were never delivered and eventually were reported as missing.
Luckily for Curry, there was enough time for Under Armour to provide backup pairs of each shoe. He will wear a Sour Patch inspired shoe with a “Candy Reign” colorway for the Three-Point Contest and sport a shoe in Hornets colors when he competes in the Shooting Stars event with his father, Dell.
Curry previously said he would honor Deah Shaddy Barakat with a tribute on his Three-Point Contest shoes. Barakat, a Curry fan, was murdered in a triple homicide in Chapel Hill, N.C.
