That’s exactly what the two-time reigning MVP did in Monday’s 116-106 win over the Pelicans when he drained 13 3-pointers, edging the NBA record he tied in February.
NBA PREDICTIONS: Mapping out the Warriors’ path to the title
Curry, who had been averaging a modest 23.2 points per game before Monday, already had 10 3-pointers through the first three quarters, but he re-entered the game in middle of the fourth quarter and hit three more in quick succession to break the record.
Astonishingly, Curry has now reached double-digit 3-pointers seven times in a single game in his career. He also became just the third player in NBA history to hit double-digit 3-point field goals after netting zero in the previous game.
Curry finished the game with 46 points, five rebounds and five assists.
