During last night’s game against the Steelers, NBC reported that Pittsburgh had trouble with its headsets. The coaches complained their headsets were receiving the Patriots’ radio broadcast and weren’t able to communicate with one another. Mike Tomlin was heated about it post-game, and so was Steelers.com writer Bob Labriola.

On the team’s official website, Labriola wrote a recap of the game and had some pretty strong comments at the end of his story. Here’s what he had to say, under the title of “No surprise at all.”
Those are some pretty bold claims, especially from the team’s official website.
The NFL, however, is not blaming New England for anything that happened with the headsets. The league released a statement saying the headsets are provided by the NFL.
“In the first quarter of tonight’s game, the Pittsburgh coaches experienced interference in their headsets caused by a stadium power infrastructure issue, which was exacerbated by the inclement weather. The coaches’ communications equipment, including the headsets, is provided by the NFL for both clubs use on game day. Once the power issue was addressed, the equipment functioned properly with no additional issues.”
The statement seems to explain what happened pretty well, but it likely won’t stop people from talking about this latest scandal. Funny enough, this wasn’t even the only issue Pittsburgh had a problem with Thursday.
