Even though the Steelers have placed an increased emphasis on their passing game in recent seasons, they’ll still lean heavily on running back Le’Veon Bell against a tough Panthers defense. Bell is on the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook’s props board at 72.5 total rushing yards.
Through two games, Bell has averaged 84 rushing yards per contest. Meanwhile, the Panthers have allowed an average of 86 yards on the ground through their first two weeks of action.
Before those numbers suggest a play on the OVER, consider the Panthers have yet to allow a single running back break the 60-yard plateau. The Buccaneers’ Jorvorskie Lane has the highest rushing total against the Panthers this season, but all 54 of his yards came on one play.
Bell will arguably be the best back the Panthers have faced up to this point, and he should receive plenty of touches on Sunday night. Before wagering, keep in mind that Bell is frequently used in the passing game, possibly eliminating some of his rushing upside.
